EAST STROUDSBURG – Board members and community managers of homeowner associations (HOAs) in Monroe County, and Lehman, Porter and Delaware townships in Pike County are invited to register for an event to prepare for emergency planning in their private communities.

Hosted by Rep. Rosemary Brown (R-Monroe/Pike), the event will take place on Thursday, May 5, at 6 p.m., at the Monroe County Public Safety Center, located at 100 Gypsum Road, Suite 201, Stroudsburg

“Planning for a multitude of emergencies and keeping members of the community updated on the plan is important to keep everyone as safe as possible when disaster strikes,” said Brown. “This event will help provide the education needed for private communities to establish or update their community emergency management plan and ensure each HOA is making this part of their everyday work.”

Attendees can expect to hear from Brown; Leon Clapper, fire chief of Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder; Maryellen Keegan, Monroe County Emergency Management executive director; Sgt. Michael Borosh, Pennsylvania State Police; Robert Travis, Community Association Institute manager; and a Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency representative.
