Veterans Assistance Available at Brown’s East Stroudsburg Office in October
Federal assistance hours cancelled this month

HARRISBURG – Rep. Rosemary M. Brown (R-Pike/Monroe) announced that she is again hosting veterans assistance hours in October at her East Stroudsburg district office, 696 Seven Bridge Road, Suite 101, to assist area residents with related needs, at no charge.

“I host these assistance hours every month in the district office to provide veterans of the 189th District with a direct link between their needs and available resources, without having to drive a farther distance,” said Brown.

Kerry Schimelfenig, department service officer with the American Legion, will visit Brown’s office on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling Brown’s office at 570-420-8301. This service is available on the second Thursday of each month to provide veterans and their dependents with assistance on issues related to compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care, as well as any other issue pertaining to veterans’ benefits. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services.

At this time, federal assistance outreach hours with Congressman Tom Marino’s staff are cancelled for this month due to the current federal government shutdown. These assistance hours are typically held on the third Tuesday of each month to allow residents who are having issues with federal agencies to meet one on one with a member of the congressman’s staff.
