Brown Selected to Serve Third Term as Deputy Chair of the House Majority Policy Committee
HARRISBURG – The House Majority Policy Committee recently announced that Rep. Rosemary M. Brown (R-Monroe/Pike) will serve a third term as a deputy chair for the committee during the 2017-18 legislative session.

As a deputy chair, Brown is looking forward to working on important statewide legislative issues. Some of these specifically include meaningful property tax relief, continuing to fight against the heroin and opioid epidemic, fostering a better business climate that improves statewide job growth, strengthening the foundations in which our state budgets are built, as well as ensuring that every cent of taxpayer money is used in a responsible manner.

“It is an honor to again be selected to serve my caucus in this role,” Brown said. “This is a great table at which to have a seat when it comes to making a real difference with statewide policy issues that affect millions of Pennsylvanians, and I am proud to be a voice in those discussions.”

The committee travels across the state, conducting hearings and roundtable discussions about important issues to gather testimony and information from key stakeholders. Brown will attend these hearings and work with her colleagues in the House Republican Caucus to develop policies to address the issues that matter most to Pennsylvania citizens.

“Rep. Brown is a bright and thoughtful legislator, who has a real grasp on the issues most impacting Pennsylvanians,” House Majority Policy Committee chairman Kerry Benninghoff said. “During her time serving as a deputy chair, she has continually provided creative solutions and insightful perspectives on the challenges we face. I am very grateful to have her back on board again this session.”

Additionally, Brown will join her House colleagues in taking the oath of office, and being sworn in for her fourth term representing the people of the 189th District on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at a ceremony in the state House chamber. The event will be stream lived on
