Brown Announces Disability Advocacy Program Hours on April 21
EAST STROUDSBURG – Rep. Rosemary M. Brown (R-Monroe/Pike) announced this week that persons with disabilities ages 18 and over, including senior citizens, who are living in the 189th District are invited to schedule an appointment during the Disability Advocacy Program hours, a new constituent outreach at her district office.

Beginning Thursday, April 21, Bob Fox, from the Center for Independent Living, will be available at Brown’s district office located at 143 Seven Bridge Road in East Stroudsburg, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In future months, he will be available during the same hours on the third Thursday of each month.

The Center for Independent Living works to improve and enhance the independent living options for people with disabilities. Some of the services Fox can assist with include advocacy, skills training, information and referral, peer counseling, home modifications, attendant care and community integration, in addition to deaf and autism services.

“I’m looking forward to hosting these outreach hours, and I am hopeful that those with disabilities take advantage of having this service close to home,” Brown said.

The Center for Independent Living is funded in part by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Department of Labor and Industry and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.
