Brown Invites Area Veterans to Informational Expo on Nov. 9
EAST STROUDSBURG – In continuing her efforts to assist and meet with local veterans, Rep. Rosemary M. Brown (R-Monroe/Pike) will host a Veterans Expo on Saturday, Nov. 9, from Noon to 3 p.m., at the Middle Smithfield Elementary School, located at 5180 Milford Road, in East Stroudsburg.

More than 30 area vendors specializing in veteran-specific services have been confirmed for this event. Each veteran who attends will receive a veterans coupon book that contains 16 coupons for free goods from businesses in Monroe and Pike counties who support our veterans. A flag ceremony will be conducted by the Monroe County Joint Veterans Honor Guard.

Additionally, guest speaker, Kerry Schimelfenig, Department Service Officer with the American Legion, will be discussing services available to assist area veterans. Schimelfenig conducts monthly veteran’s outreach hours on the second Thursday of each month at Representative Brown’s district office in East Stroudsburg.

“With Veterans Day right around the corner, this is the perfect time to bring area veterans together with regional businesses and programs that exist to assist them,” said Brown. “I encourage all veterans in the 189th District to come out to this expo, and I ask those who have a veteran as a family member, friend or neighbor to spread the word about this event.”
