EAST STROUDSBURG – In an effort to continue providing area veterans with the resources and recognition they deserve, Rep. Rosemary M. Brown (R-Monroe/Pike) will host a veterans’ appreciation event for veterans and their families on Saturday, Nov. 18, from noon to 3 p.m, at the Middle Smithfield Elementary School, located at 5180 Milford Road, in East Stroudsburg.

“Our veterans are our hometown heroes, the men and women who put their lives on the line at one point or another to defend our freedom,” Brown said. “They deserve our respect and to be shown gratitude at home, and that’s what this event is all about.”

Light food will be provided by area businesses and various veteran services will be available, along with medical screenings by Lehigh Valley Health Network and St. Luke’s. There will be a presentation of the American and Pennsylvania flags, along with honoring the Missing Man Table by the Monroe County Joint Veterans Honor Guard.

Veterans who plan to attend are asked to RSVP in advance and provide their rank and dates of service by calling Brown’s office at 570-420-8301.
