EAST STROUDSBURG – Fall has begun, which means that flu season is not far behind. To help local residents, especially seniors, prepare for the inevitable flu season, Rep. Rosemary Brown (R-Monroe/Pike) has partnered with Rite Aid and will be hosting a flu shot event on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at her district office parking lot, 143 Seven Bridge Road, East Stroudsburg. Flu vaccines provided are free of charge for attendees.
“While our main concern and focus at this point is the coronavirus, it is still important that we don’t ignore other illnesses that pose a threat to our health,” said Brown. “The flu is not an illness that we should underestimate, especially when it affects our respiratory systems and can lead to secondary infections, especially in the most vulnerable. This flu shot event will help make these vaccines more accessible to our citizens without even leaving their car and ensure they have the means to protect themselves if they choose. Senior attendees will also receive an informational bag filled with materials and giveaways from some of our normal Senior Expo participants.”
Flu vaccines will be administered to anyone 18 years of age or older by licensed clinicians wearing protective equipment and senior citizens will receive an informational service bag as well.
While this is a free event, registration will be required for times and spacing. To register, contact Brown’s district office at 570-420-8301.
